If you are shopping on a budget, get one of Lucid's memory foam toppers. They are just memory foam; they don't contain any infused materials like gel or charcoal.
But they are great if you want to enjoy deeper body contouring and pressure point relief.
Lucid sells three memory foam topper sizes: 2 inches, 3 inches, and 4 inches.
The 2” topper is ideal if you want to add just a little bit of softness to your mattress. It's soft but because it is only 2” thick, you won't sink in too deep.
If you need an even softer feel or you have an extra-firm mattress, get the 3” topper. And if you want as much plushness as you can get, get the thick 4” topper.
The 4” is best for heavy sleepers who need to sink deeper to enjoy maximum pressure point relief.

3” Traditional Foam Topper
There’s the 2” traditional foam topper for those who love the soft feel of foam but find memory foam overly soft or hot.
The traditional foam topper is made with polyfoam. It retains less heat than memory foam and it’s more responsive. Oh, it’s also cheaper, making it a great choice if you are on a budget.
2” Dunlop Latex Topper
If you don't want to sleep on foam at all, try the Lucid 2” Dunlop latex topper. Like the memory foam toppers, it's designed to soften a too-firm mattress but it doesn't have the same deep hug as memory foam.
The latex topper is great for those who want more support (less sinking) and responsiveness from their mattress topper. It’s especially ideal for back and stomach sleepers. We also highly recommend it to hot sleepers since latex doesn't trap heat.
Note that the latex topper is not all natural. It's made with 50% synthetic and 50% natural latex. It's more expensive than the memory foam toppers, but cheaper than organic and natural latex toppers.
3” Down Alternative Topper
The other non-foam Lucid topper is the 3” down alternative fiber topper.
It consists of plush microfiber filling and a 100% cotton percale cover, which helps with breathability.
The down alternative topper is a good choice for those who find memory foam too soft. The microfiber topper is still soft but you won’t sink into it like you would a memory foam topper. It’s perfect for softening a firm mattress without compromising support.
Issues & Complaints
One complaint we and other reviewers have with Lucid’s memory foam toppers is that they can be a bit delicate.
If your mattress sags in the middle, the Lucid topper may eventually split down the middle.
Generally, Lucid memory foam toppers are not that long-lasting. Even with good care, the average lifespan is about 3 years with every night use.
That said, the prices are excellent – and most foam toppers don’t last much longer.
Another issue is temperature control.
The Lucid gel and bamboo charcoal memory foam toppers do help with cooling, but they are in our opinion not the best choices for hot sleepers because gel memory foam tends to get warm after a few hours, and bamboo charcoal has limited cooling effect.
