Materials & Construction
The YnM blanket has a 7-layer design to help you feel cool and weigh down your body.
They don’t use bamboo or any of the special cooling fabrics. The blanket is mainly made of cotton.
The secret to keeping the blanket cool is to have more glass beads in it and less fiberfill.
The blanket is more huggable and doesn’t feel like it’s in a sauna. The blanket is still breathable, so heat does not build up.
If you suffer from night sweats, the cooling design is beneficial.
Glass beads are entirely silent, non-toxic, and odorless.
They are kept in small compartments measuring 4.7 inches by 4.7 inches. This ensures uniform distribution and prevents blanket weight shifting.
The blanket is sealed with a three-dimensional sewn technique to prevent leakages from one or both compartments.
As we have already mentioned, the YnM weighted blanket does not come with a cover.
Although the blanket is machine washable, it is pretty laborious and has a shorter lifespan. You can then wash the cover and spot-clean the blanket.
Eight loops are included to attach the blanket to a duvet.
Comfort and Weight
There are many weight options for the YnM blanket, ranging from 5lbs to 30-lbs. In addition, they are available in various sizes, from 36 “x48” to 80 “x87”.
A Queen-size is available, measuring 60×80 inches and weighing in at 17, 20, 22, 22, or 25 pounds. Use the “10% of your body weight” rule to determine the perfect weight.
If 10% of your body weight falls between the two available weights, choose the one with more weight.
If you are sharing a bed with your partner, choose one size larger than your bed when choosing a size. The Queen-size size is for one person sleeping on a Queen-sized bed. The Kingsize (80 “x87”) is suitable for two people sharing a Queen-sized bed.
If you have a significant weight difference with your partner, get two smaller blankets for each of you. This will allow you to pick an extra weight for each person.
Health Benefits
Researchers don’t know why blankets with weights make people sleep better. However, researchers believe that weighted blankets can reduce stress hormones by creating a hugging feeling.
But what matters most is that they work.
